Deborah Ann (Todd) Arcand, 55,

Deborah Ann (Todd) Arcand, 55, of Mendon, passed away Friday, May 4 2018 surrounded by her family.  She is survived by her husband, Wayne Arcand.  She was born in Framingham, MA, daughter of the late James and Anna (Piazza) Todd.  She was a graduate of the Milford High School class of 1980. She retired from the United States Army Soldier Systems Center after 30 years.

She is survived by her son, James T. Arcand of Mendon and Hanna E. Arcand of Bellingham. She leaves two sisters, Sandra Chiancola of Mendon and Donna Smith and her husband Brian of Wareham. She is also survived many nieces and nephews.

Debbie was always family first.  She loved gatherings, especially in Onset.  She would spend hours at her favorite spot, Little Harbor Beach, where she watched her children and nieces and nephews grow.  Debbie was the family baker. Every holiday she made sure we had the baked traditions of our Nannie's cookie recipes.  Deb loved David Bowie and easily shared a memory whenever a Bowie tune would play of her adventures with her family & friends.  Deb loved to laugh and smile!  She will be deeply missed.

I’m so sorry for the loss of Deb. She was the sweetest woman and so kind. So funny, too. Her smile and her laugh were always so nice to see and to hear. She struggled so much but she always remained so positive. We loved her. I loved her. I’m so happy I was able to know her for the few years I did and I know so many feel the same. I hope she is at peace now. And somewhere sunny with everyone she loves. Thoughts and prayers to her family during this very sad and hard time.

I worked at TJMaxx with Deb, she always had a smile, and showed such depth and heart in all her involvement with people. It was easy to see why Deb was so loved by all that got to know her. A big heart and a soul that lit lit the lounge at break time. Deb was so welcoming, such warmth, and heart felt emotion. I am so sorry for your loss Love you Deb

What a sad time for Deb's family and friends. She was so sweet and caring, always looking out for others. She was truly one of David Bowie Heroes. Now lets accumulate stories to share with her when we meet again, and she will surely be sending us laughter along the way. With sympathy,

So very sad that Deb is gone. We worked on the same team for many years. We shared an appreciation for David Bowie. She was always smiling and always ready to help. I always could count an a cheery smile anytime I asked for her assistance. I’m sorry she won’t enjoy the long and rewarding retirement she so richly deserved.

Jimmy, Hannah and Wayne, What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why she left this earth, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that she died, but that she lived. Her life gave you memories... and words too beautiful to forget. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy on the passing of your mother.

30 years ago, I was the director of the organization that Debbie worked in. From time to time, I needed a temporary replacement for my secretary and Debbie filled that spot. She filled that spot ably and competently and as everyone will believe, with a smile. I'm sorry that she passed on at such a young age. She deserved many more years.

To Debs Family - Deb is rock star status in my eyes. She was my mentor at the Army Post. I knew when I met her on day one that we were going to be sisters (of a different mother). I thanked God that moment that he hooked us up right proper. Fast forward to this loss of my soul Sister and I'm thanking God for having her in my life and sharing a path with her in this wacky world. My p.s. to God was to let her meet David Bowie in Heaven. God is great and totally knows how to hook a sister up. Bless you all in the days to come. She is everywhere you are!
