Alexander J. Oneschuk Jr., 92

Alexander J. Oneschuk Jr., 92, of Hopedale, died Monday, December 19, 2011 at the Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Virginia C. (Webster) Oneschuk who died in 2001. He was born in Milford son of the late Alexander J. Oneschuk Sr. and Rosalie (Kmita) Oneschuk and lived in Milford before moving to Hopedale in 1951. He was a graduate of the Milford High School class of 1937. Mr. Oneschuk was a World War II Army Veteran. He retired in 1980 from the former Rockwell International in Hopedale where he was employed as a foreman. Mr. Oneschuk was an accomplished accordion player and was a member of the Rudy Peroni Trio until 1980. He had his own radio program in the 1930”s called “Pete and Re-Pete”.  He was an avid New York Yankee’s Fan. Mr. Oneschuk was the past president of the Hopedale Little League and also a coach. He enjoyed his family and friends and also enjoyed playing cribbage. He is survived by one son, Alexander J. Oneschuk III and his wife Patricia (Thibault) Oneschuk of Milford, two daughters, Karen and her husband Thomas Ragonese of Hopedale, Cheryl and her husband Stephen Moreci of Hopedale, one brother Joseph Oneschuk of Milford, four sisters Olga Anderson, Anna Parente and Alice Oneschuk all of Milford, Lillian Smart of Atlanta GA, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Rosalie Calhoun, Mary Oneschuk and Tina Oneschuk.  The funeral will be held Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 9 A.M. from the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St. Milford. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M. in the Sacred Heart Church in Hopedale on Hopedale St. The burial will follow in the Hopedale Village Cemetery in Hopedale. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 5 to 8 P.M.

Dear Alex and family, I was deeply saddened today to hear of your Dad's passing on Sunday. He was a wonderful man who always treated his family and their friends with a happy, friendly manner. 92 years is a long time. Console yourselves with the thought that he and your Mom are together again.
