Barbara A. (Thompson) Jenness, 81, of Mendon MA., passed away surrounded by her family, Thursday, March 31, 2017 in her home. She was born in Ashtabula OH, daughter of the late Meredith and Alvina (Knowlton) Thompson and lived in New Jersey most of her life before living in Brattleboro VT and moved to Mendon in 2012. She was educated in the Newark NJ schools. Barbara was a wonderful homemaker, enjoyed her time with Vermont Theater Company and in her younger years she enjoyed hiking and she walked the Appalachian Long trail. Barbara enjoyed sewing and quilting, and gardening. She enjoyed her vacations in Maine. She is survived by her children, Steven J. Weiss of Bellows Falls VT, Margaret and her husband Christopher Amato, Barbara and her husband Michael LaBonte of Barton VT, Mary and Demetrios Stamelos of Galloway NJ and Kathleen and her husband Herbert Staniszewski of Mendon, two sisters Vera Griffin of Clark NJ, Patricia LaFoso of Whiting NJ, eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sisters, Donna, Fran and Jeannette and her companion of thirteen years Ronald Torrey.
The funeral and burial will be private and at the convenience of her family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St. Milford MA.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors or a Humane Society of one’s choice.

I am so sorry to hear about Barbara's passing. I am shocked, actually. I have such vivid happy memories of our times in Vermont. What a beautiful inspiring woman with the best laugh in the world. My love and thoughts go out to the family.
