Consigli Ruggerio Funeral Home

Robert (Bob) J. Capuzziello, 91

Robert (Bob) J. Capuzziello, 91, a lifelong resident of Milford died peacefully in his sleep and entered heaven on Friday, January 28. Born and raised in Milford, he was the son of the late Gaetano and Filomena (Cifizzari) Capuzziello.  Bob was the beloved husband of the late Lillian R. Capuzziello who predeceased him in March 2021. They were married for 67 years and were inseparable.

Bob was a graduate of Milford High school and a US Army veteran who honorably served in the Korean war.  Bob was a respected member in the community and owned and operated Bob’s Citgo, a full-service station on Main Street, Milford, retiring in 2002. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Italian American Veteran’s Post, Milford Lions Club and Jenny’s Bowling League.  He was an avid baseball player and played for Milford High School and Legion teams.

Bob was a human “almanac” for sports trivia and people’s birthdates, and one of few Italians who didn’t like pasta. He was a quiet man of faith, serving as an altar boy in his youth and in later years as an usher. He faithfully prayed for his children and grandchildren every day either at Sacred Heart Church or sitting in his recliner. Bob was generous and supported multiple Catholic charities.

He was a loving, present and an involved father to two sons:  Robert and his Wife Nancy Capuzziello of Milford and Stephen and his wife Brenda Capuzziello of Upton. He was a supportive, loving grandfather to:  Bobby Capuzziello III, Ryan Capuzziello, Stephen Capuzziello, Jr., Cassie Capuzziello and Scott and his wife Rebekah Capuzziello. When the grandkids were younger, Bob could often be found with his wife Lillian at their baseball games, band concerts or dance recitals. Robert leaves behind one sister, Mary Murphy of Hopedale; and one sister in-law Lucy Frascotti and husband Charles of Milford and their sons Robert Frascotti and his wife Rhonda and John Frascotti and his wife Sharon O’Connor.  He also leaves behind many other nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by three brothers Frank Capuzziello, Joseph Capuzziello, Sr. and Gaetano “Sully” Capuzziello and three sisters: Rose Caprini, Margaret Catusi, and Helen O’Sullivan.

A graveside service will be open to family and friends on Friday, February 4 at 10:00 at the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Medway Road in Milford.  There will be no calling hours.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Consigli Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water Street in Milford.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Sacred Heart Parish. The legacy that both he and his wife Lillian leave is one of faith, perseverance and love.

“and make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands . . . so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders” 1 Thessalonians 4:11

"Bobby" and "Stevie," I was saddened to learn of Uncle Bob's passing. Like my Dad, he was one of the good guys. His family and his faith were of utmost importance to him. I always remember going down the station as a kid. He'd have grease on his hands from working on cars and would always put a smudge on my nose. I have great memories of him and your Mom. They set a wonderful example of devotion to each other in their many years of marriage. They are together again and are at peace. He will be missed by all who knew him. My deepest condolences to all the family.
Susan (Capuzziello) Diomedes

Steve and Rob, I recall great days of Dad's involvement in Milford little league baseball and always when stopped in at Tommy Stocks barbar shop, always - always a kind word a little humor and conversation. Bob knew community and embraced it. A life of faith - well lived. In prayer.
