Consigli Ruggerio Funeral Home

Roger Alexander Beggs, 86,

Roger Alexander Beggs, 86, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on August 19th in his home. The son of Josephine and Robert Beggs, he grew up in Brighton, Ma. He was a graduate of St. Columbkille High School, attended Boston University, served 8 years in the National Guard and was retired from EMC Corporation. He was a lifelong Red Sox and Patriots fan, captivating storyteller, admirer of the old western and classic movies.

His joy came from his family and friends and capturing any audience with a story or two and his love of Nova Scotia often visiting the old family farm. He enjoyed traveling and taking drives to the beach, mountains and visiting his grandchildren, family and close friends. He took pride in working around the house, keeping the lawn green and never said no to a jelly donut.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years Christina B. Beggs, his daughter Sharon Kosteva and her husband Glenn, their three children, Katie & her fiancée Brian Regan, Dan and Ben. Also survived by his son Paul Beggs and his wife Sharon Ann, their children Kayla, her daughter Leeanna, Shawn, Kristin & Tim Small, their children Andrew and Sophie. Also survived by daughters Theresa Beggs and Christina Beggs and many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by Bobby Beggs, John Beggs, Joan Guaragna and Peggy Finn.

Roger’s love, sense of humor, and adoration will deeply be missed by his family and friends and the many he made laugh along the way.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at 9 A.M. from the Consigli Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St. Milford MA.   A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church on Hopedale St. in Hopedale. I grew up listening to the many stories of my Dad’s adolescence, teens and into his adulthood. There was always a constant in these stories Roger Beggs. Of course the favorite stories were of summers in Novia Scotia. Well maybe now that Johnny and Roger are together again they can finally catch up with the Ghost that featured in the best story of them all. My thoughts are with you all.
