Maria G. (Lavrado) Braza, 94, of Milford, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at the Milford Regional Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Joao J. Braza who passed away in 2011. She was born in Mourilhe, Portugal daughter of the late Alberto and Maria Lavrado and moved to Milford in 1977. She retired in 1993 from the Fenwal Company in Ashland where she was employed as an assembler.
Maria mostly enjoyed the days where she took care of her two grandsons and watching them grow into the men they are today. She was a communicant of the St. Mary of the Assumption Church.
She is survived by her children, John Braza and his wife Dolores of Ludlow, Maria and her husband Sergio Afonso of Hopedale, two grandsons Sergio and Jason, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Joao Lavrado and Ana DeJesus.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at 9 A.M. from the Consigli Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 A.M. at the St. Mary of the Assumption Church on Winter St. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday from 5 to 7 P.M.
