Vincent E. Farese, 74

Vincent E. Farese, 74 of Milford, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Linda A. (Letterie) Farese for 52 years. Born and raised in Milford, MA, he was the son of the late Sabino and Lena (Iannitelli) Farese. Vinnie was a graduate of Assumption Prep in Worcester, MA, and earned his Bachelor's of Science in History at St. Francis College in Biddeford, ME. For many years, Vinnie ran the family businesses, Milford Excavating and Farese Realty. In later years, Vinnie retired as a history teacher at Milford Middle School East where he enjoyed being one of the MSE crew.

Vinnie was a very involved father and grandfather and spent years coaching his children’s sports teams, chaperoning field trips and attending his grandchildren’s activities. Most recently he enjoyed traveling to his alma mater to watch his grandson play football. Vinnie grew up spending time at the family home in Falmouth, MA with his parents, two sisters, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. When his children were growing up, Vinnie brought them and all their friends to their home on Stratton Mountain where they enjoyed skiing and tobogganing. Vinnie will be remembered someone who loved his family above all else and was never happier than when he was with them. Vinnie could always be counted onto tell a story of his days building houses, having fun with his sisters and cousins, and preparing a Sunday feast.

In addition to his wife, Vinnie is survived by his children, Francesca, wife of Garth Yohn of Milford, MA and their children, Nathan and Nicholas; Sabino Farese of North Providence, RI; Vincent P. and his wife Lisa of Scarborough, ME; and Krista, wife of John Wallace of Milford, MA and their children Ellie and Linc. He is also survived by his sister, Theresa, wife of Jack Floyd of Falmouth, MA and their son Jonathan and his wife Caroline Floyd of Milford, MA and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Besides his parents, Vinnie was predeceased by his son, James Farese; his in-laws, Pat and Fritzie Letterie; and his sister, Maria Santucci and her son, Anthony.

The funeral will be held Saturday February 11, 2023 at 9 A.M. from the Consigli Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 A.M. at the sacred Heart of Jesus Church 5 East Main St. The burial will follow in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery on Medway Rd. in Milford.

Calling hours are Friday from 5 to 7 p.m.

My sincerest condolences to Vinny's family. I remember him as one of the substitute teachers at Middle School East before he became a full time teacher there. You could tell that he really enjoyed being around kids and had a good sense of humor. Vinny also built the house my family lived in for several years and that I was raised in.

My deepest condolences to the whole Farese family. Mr. Farese built my family’s home when we moved to Milford in 1987 and also coached my little league baseball team. I always enjoyed spending time w/ the family, looked up to Mr. Farese and admired his bond w/ his children. Rest In Peace Mr. Farese.

When I took Vinnie to Zion Natl Park against his wishes, he was so enthralled by what he saw, he said we have to do the Builder Conventions more often so that he can have the pleasure of seeing more of what is out there beyond the convention and Milford. At our last lunch a month ago, he was already planning our next lunch down in Woonsocket. So sorry that will not happen, but I have a ton of experiences to remember him by. My sympathies are with his wife and family. We will all miss him. Vinnie, may you Rest In Peace Vahan Sarkisian

I can only imagine the look on Maria’s face when she saw her brother walk in through those gates. My sincere condolences. to the family…some big shoes will have to be filled when it comes to his storytelling ….Vinny loved his family more than life ..I imagine he will carry on as he did on earth and prepare a place for his family to one day reunite ..I have great memories growing up in the same neighborhood..the south end.I had the pleasure of being Vinny’s barkeep as he came to collect his reward at the end of a hard days work …his extra dry Bombay martini and glass of olives.. Vinny’s laugh set him aside from everybody else… Rest in peace and love on the other side Mr Farese..♥️. Chicky Compagnone
