Antonio Jose Fernandes Da Braza, 96, of Milford, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023, at the St. Antoine Residence in North Smithfield RI. He was the husband of the late Maria A. (Miranda) Da Braza. He born in Mourilhe, Montalegre, Portugal, son of the late Francisco and Justina (Gil) Da Braza and moved to Milford in 1978. He retired in 1990 from Mazzarelli’s Bakery where he was employed as a baker.
He is survived by his children, Francisco Braza and his wife Balbina of Portugal, Manuel Braza and his wife Susan of Blackstone, Maria and her husband Luis Sanches of Douglas, Rosa and her husband Antonio Goncalves of Milford, three sisters, Virginia Alves of Brazil, Tina Miranda of Portugal, Arminda Carniero of Milford, eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two grandchildren, Justina Braza and Antonio Goncalves Jr., three sisters, Maria Lavrado, Ana Alves and Rosa DaSilva.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, February 17, 2023 at 10 A.M. at the St. Mary of the Assumption Church on Winter St. The burial will be in the Cemiterio de Mourilhe in Mourilhe, Montalegre, Portugal.
A calling hour will be held prior to the funeral Mass from 8:30 to 9:30 A.M. at the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St.
