Consigli Ruggerio Funeral Home

Dennis M. Robinson, 67,

Dennis M. Robinson, 67, of Milford, MA, died on February 14, 2023, in the home he had lived in for almost 60 years.  Dennis was the son of the late Arthur W. and Edna (Doucette) Robinson, Jr, and stepson of the late Elizabeth Robinson; he was pre-deceased by his nephew Arthur W. IV “Billy”, sister-in-law Sharon, and sisters Mary, Margaret, and Patricia.  He will be greatly missed by his brother Arthur W. III, with whom he lived for most of his life, and by his niece Jessi, who he helped raise, together with her wife Ellie, and his great-nephew Henry. Dennis also leaves behind his sister Kate and several other nieces and nephews. He will also be remembered by his friends, particularly his poker buddies.

Dennis was a chef for many years in local restaurants and was a surveyor for much of the latter half of his life, but he was in his heart an artist, plant-whisperer, and lover of animals and music. He was a talented painter, dabbled in learning the drums, maintained a veritable jungle of plants in his home, spent seemingly endless time feeding the backyard critters, and attended many concerts.

Dennis’s real love however was Hawai’i. While taking a vacation there in the late 1980s, he fell in love with the culture, lifestyle, and people. Over the next 40 years, he would return to Kuai’i at least 5 more times, including living on the island for 2 years in the early 1990s. Snorkeling and hiking along the Nāpali Coast were more than just vacation activities, the Nāpali Coast was part of his soul & he described it with reverence and love.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, February 23, 2023, from 9 to 11 A.M. at the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St. Milford. A prayer service will follow the visitation at 11:00 A.M. followed by interment at the North Purchase Cemetery on Pinewood Road in Milford, MA.

I have known Dennis since we were kids, and it's so hard to believe that he's gone. So many great memories. We played sports together in high school, and he was a groomsman at my wedding in 1977. Of all the many great concerts that we attended together over the years, we both were in agreement that Clapton/Santana in 1975 (just the two us attended that one) was the best. His love of nature, be it plants, animals, birds, or anything to do with Kauai, was unmatched. My wife Terry and I both loved him and will greatly miss having him in our lives.
