Enrico (Rico) R. Pisarro, 88

Enrico (Rico) R. Pisarro died at age 88 on Monday, August 29, 2011 at the Milford Regional Medical Center after a brief period of declining health.  He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Helen (Bowen) Pisarro, his adored daughter Danita Ann Hynes and her husband Doug of Newburyport and the apple of his eye, his only grandchild, Ean Douglas, a sister-in-law Carol Bowen of Upton, many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his beloved daughter, Darica Ann who died in 2000 from injuries sustained in an auto accident and a great friend, his brother-in-law Mr. Robert Bowen.  Mr. Pisarro was born November 11, 1922 in the Prospect Heights neighborhood of Milford built by Draper Corporation in 1904 for its workers where everyone was like family, kids were known by their house number and immigrant laborers set up homesteads while chasing the American Dream.  He was the last of five children born to Demetrio and Annunziata (Sapia) Pisarro who emigrated from southern Italy. He was predeceased also by his siblings, Nicholas, Dominic, Margaret Salvia and Josephine Pilla all of Milford.  After graduating from Milford High School in 1940, he graduated from Becker College in Worcester and proudly served his country in World War II while stationed in Paris, France.  Mr. Pisarro was employed by the former Draper Corporation in Hopedale at the main office for over 35 years.  Prior to retirement he became a U.S. Postal Carrier when his employer moved operations to North Carolina.  He was very proud to be an honorary Mayor for the Prospect Heights Mayor's Association. Mr. Pisarro was a passionate gardner and fed many families over the years from his vegetable garden. He could always be found in his treasured back yard. We will forever miss his energy, his most wonderful sense of humor and the immeasurable love he had for his family.  The funeral will be held Friday, September 2, 2011 at 9 A.M. from the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 A.M. in the St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church on Winter St. The burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Medway Rd. In Milford. Calling hours are Thursday from 5 to 8 P.M..
