Antonio Mendes, 84,

   Antonio Mendes, 83, of Milford, died Saturday, February 2, 2013 in his home. He was the husband of the late Precinda R. (Rosa) Mendes who died in 2002. He was born in Peirezes, Portugal, son of the late Jose and Ermilinda (Antunes) Mendes and moved to Milford in 1966.
   Mr. Mendes retired from the Fenwal Company in Ashland where he was employed as a machinist for many years.
   He was a communicant of the St. Mary’s of the Assumption church and a member of the Milford Portuguese Club.
   He is survived by two sons Joseph M. Mendes of Lansing MI, Anthony Mendes of Milford, four daughters Ana A. Melchiorri of South Natick, Fatima G. Machado of Torlock CA, Elizabeth Trigoura of Miami FL, Suzanne Cross of San Diego CA, one step-daughter Maria DeMoura of Milford, twelve grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 9 A.M. from the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral home 46 Water St. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 A.M. in the St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church on Winter St.
Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery on Cedar St.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 5 to 8 P.M.
