John A. Villani, 86

       John A. Villani, 86, of Milford, died Thusday, March 21, 2013 in Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Claire C. (Gritte) Villani who died in 2011. He was born in Milford, son of the late Antonio and Jennie (DeCesare) Villani and was a life long Milford resident. He was a graduate of the Milford High School class of 1943 and also a graduate of the Worcester Trade School. He was a World War II Army Veteran serving in the 399th Infantry Regiment 100th Division. Mr. Villani retired in 1988 from the former Dennison Corp. in Framingham where he was employed as an engineer. Previously he was employed at the former Draper Corp. in Hopedale.
He was a communicant of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, a member of the Hoboken Citizens Club, Hopedale Country Club, Milford Italian American Veterans, Sons of Italy in Milford and the U.S Chess Federation.
   He is survived by his daughters Paula V. and her husband Jack Bruggeman of Vienna VA, Karen V. Gulledge of Greensboro NC, two brothers Frank and his wife Norma Villani of Port Orange FL, Anthony and his wife Dianna Villani of Collegeville PA, one sister Mary J. Villani of Milford, a sister-in-law Eleanor Gritte of Hopedale, two granddaughters Emily Bruggeman of Falls Church VA and Karyn Bruggeman of Washington DC. He was predeceased by his granddaughter Kathryn Bruggeman.
     The funeral will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 9 A.M. from the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral home 46 Water St. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 A.M. in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church 7 East Main St.
Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Medway Rd in Milford.
Calling hours will be held Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M.
