Arthur J. “AJ” Luippold, 90

Arthur J. “AJ” Luippold, 90, of Milford, died August 11, 2013 following a brief stay in the Blaire House in Milford.
     Formerly of Everett, Boston, and Hyannis, he was born in Everett, the son of the late Arthur I. and Anna (Giggie) Luippold, was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, class of 1942. AJ resided at Whitcomb House in Milford before his passing. 
    He was the brother of Joseph Luippold of Fremont, CA, and the late Barbara (Napoli) Nelsen, Ronald Luippold and Elizabeth DeLillo. He is also survived by several cousins and many nieces and nephews.
    AJ had worked for many years as a waiter at the Wayside Inn, in Sudbury, and the Paddock in Hyannis, as well as other restaurants, and thoroughly enjoyed entertaining patrons. He had served in the U. S. Army, during WWII, and was a former member of the Sacred Heart Choir in Milford, and enjoyed watching old movies and the news each evening.  AJ always pursued entertaining, directing and performing in many stage shows in the Milford area in the 1940s. After winning a ‘best entertainer’ award in New York in 1950, a short stay in California, AJ returned to present many more follies and musical revues in Milford and Boston for parishes and charities, the Red Cross and for veterans at Naval hospitals throughout the 1950s. He had many friends and enjoyed traveling to New Hampshire, living in Boston, on Cape Cod and mostly in Milford.
    A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 10 A.M. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 7 East Main St. Milford MA. Burial will follow at 12:30PM at the V.A. National Cemetery, in Bourne.  
    Calling hours will be held Tuesday morning prior to the funeral mass from 8:30 to 9:30 A.M. at the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water St. Milford MA.  
    In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be made to the Legacy of Faith, Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 5 East Main St., Milford, MA 01757.
     AJ’s family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Whitcomb House, for their care for “Uncle AJ”.
