Lucy M. Williams (Porzio), 81

Lucy M. Williams (Porzio), 81, lost her battle with cancer on Friday, February 27, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law.  She was the wife of the late Frank A. Williams, who died in 1987.  Lucy was born on July 4, 1933 in Milford to the late Alessandro and Josephine (Zurlo) Porzio.  She was raised in Milford and graduated from Milford High School-Class of 1951.  She also attended Somerville School of Nursing and worked at Somerville Hospital.  She then became a supervisor at Claflin Hill Nursing Home in Milford and retired in 1998 from her job as school nurse at Blackstone Valley Tech High School. She also has worked through the years at the family business, Frank’s Appliance. A caring individual, she always enjoyed helping others.  She volunteered for the Food Pantry in Milford,  Meals on Wheels and the Mercy Meals at Sacred Heart Church. Lucy was a woman of faith and was a parishioner at Sacred Heart in Milford, where she was a Eucharistic Minister. She was known in her family for making homemade cappellettis at holiday times.  She enjoyed time spent with family, reading, doing crossword puzzles and senior trips to the casino. She enjoyed spending time with her very close friend, Gene Desroches, of Bellingham.  They have many great memories together.
She leaves behind a son, Frank J. Williams, and his wife Deborah, of Mendon.  Her Grandchildren, Brandon Williams of Hopedale and his girlfriend, Amy Saball.   Kerriann Brophy and her husband, Thomas, of Milford, a brother, Ralph Porzio and his wife Eleanor, of Milford.  A sister-in-law, Florence Porzio of E. Falmouth, and a Sister-in-law, Mary Porzio of Wareham.  She leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Susan Williams, who passed away in 2000.  Also, her brothers, Ben Porzio and Anthony Porzio; her sister, Dora Molinaro and a brother-in-law, Anthony Molinaro.
Visiting hours are Tuesday, March 3 from 5-8 P.M. at Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water St, Milford.  A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 4 at 10:30 at Sacred Heart Church, E. Main Street, Milford.  Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford. 
In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations can be made to The Oliva Family Comfort Fund, 20 Prospect St, Milford. For
