Mr. breen was very kind to both of my children while at Hopedale High School. I remember in particular a story my son told me about an encounter with him. My son had been sent to mr. Breen's office for clowning around in class(not an unusual occurrence for him). Mr. Breen talked to my son about sports, made a connection with him, and in the end told my son he was better than acting like a clown. From then on my son didn't want to be sent to Breen's office. He liked Mr. Breen and didn't want let him down. Connecting with a diverse group of kids is a gift. Mr. Breen had this gift. I am so sorry for his loss and my heartful sympathies go out to his family.

D-Breen was, and will always be, "one in a million". When he used that term you knew how highly he regarded that person. We played football next to each other on "D" together at URI as brothers in Phi Mu Delta. When I returned to coach football in the 80's at Westborough, a highlight in every season for Head Coach Jan Gebo and me were the Varsity, JV & Frosh games with Milford. Dennis coached with joy in his heart, played the game way it should be played, coached it the same way and lived the same way. May he rest in peace and may his family survive and thrive in his honor.

Kelly, Sam, Shannon, Carolyn, I am so sorry for the loss of a great husband and dad. I have known Dennis for more than 30 years. It was a pleasure to work with him for many years as a teacher, work under him as an administrator, then my dad was blessed to have such a kind administrator to work with in Hopedale for several years. However, the greatest gift I have had from Dennis (and Kelly) is the opportunity to teach each of his daughters. They are wonderful young women because of the father (and mother) they had. My heart is heavy and my thoughts and prayers are with you.
