Richard W. Vayo, 83
Richard W. Vayo, 83, of Milford, a resident for most of his life, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Countryside Healthcare in Milford.
Born in Uxbridge, he was the son of the late Ralph and Elizabeth (Marshall) Vayo, and was a graduate of Northbridge High School, Class of 1950, enlisted in the Navy 1952-1956 serving aboard the Opportune and then the USS Corporal during the Korean War. He then went on to graduate from New England Tech in 1958.
He was the owner of the former Central Refrigeration and Air Conditioning in Milford, prior to his retirement in 1992. He was a former member and past Exalted Ruler of the Milford Elks. Married to Dolores B. (Moore) Vayo for 59 years, he was the father of Karen Gagnon and her husband John and their children Michelle and Jeffrey of Bellingham, Laurie Johnson and her husband Howard Bialas and her children Kayla and Emily Johnson of Virginia Beach, and Cynthia MacWhinnie and her husband Scott and their children Chad and Kiera of So. Portland, ME.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 12 Noon. at the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St., Milford. Burial will be held at a later date. Calling hours will be held from 11-12PM prior to the Service.
