Leo S. Atteratta, 93,

Leo S. Atteratta, 93, of Hopedale, passed away December 26, 2023 at the Lydia Taft House in Uxbridge. He was the husband of Nancy A. (Gentry) Atteratta for 61 years. He was born in Milford, son of the late Leonardo and Arcangela (Dichiaro) Atteratta and lived in Yarmouthport before moving back to Milford in 1976 and recently moved to Hopedale. He was educated in the Milford schools and educated at the Wentworth Institute of Technology where he became an electrician. He was a Korean War Navy Veteran, serving on the USS Salem. Leo retired in 2002 from Post Road Carpet where he was employed as a salesman. 

He left us as he lived; kindly, greatly and full of love. He will remain in our Hearts forever. We can honor him by seeking to live as he did with deep love for family and friends and respect for people of all types.       

In addition to his wife, he is survived his children, David Atteratta of Manhattan, Lisa and her husband Winn Castro of Boca Raton FL, Linda Nesta-Calzone and her husband Michael Calzone of Milford, Diana and her husband Bob McLaughlin of Auburn, one sister Antonetta Alphonse of Milford, six grandchildren, Caitlin VanDyke, Christopher VanDyke, Ryan Nesta, Allison Nesta, Cameron McLaughlin and Kyle McLaughlin, many nieces and nephews. 

He was predeceased by his brothers, Michael Atteratta, Frank Atteratta, and his sisters, Theresa Atteratta, Mary Atteratta, Josephine Atteratta, Evelyn Atteratta and Anna D’Amico        

  Calling hours will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 8:30 to 10 A.M. followed by a funeral home service at the Consigli Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St. Milford MA. The burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford. 

Leo’s family would like to thank the loving and caring staff at the Lydia Taft Nursing Home.
