Maria Aurora (Gomes) Pinto, 85, of Milford, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2024 at Countryside Health Care of Milford, following a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and friend known for her strength, kindness and unwavering love for her family. She loved to cook and enjoyed her long walks.
She was born in Portugal and immigrated to the US in 1978 with her late husband Fernando Pinto who passed away in 1988 and with seven of her eight children. She was the daughter of the late Adelina (Gomes) De Barros who passed away in 2005 and the step daughter of the late Jose De Barros who passed away in 2015.
Maria is survived by six children, Connie Marques, Fernando L Pinto, Antonio Pinto, Francisco Pinto, Pedro Pinto and Paul Pinto. She left behind seventeen grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She is survived by her siblings, Delmina Goncalves, Ana Ramos, Jose Gomes, Maria Dias, Jack Gomes, Fatima Afonso. She was predeceased by two of her children, Aurora Pinto and Joao Pinto. Maria's legacy is one of love, resilience and devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 from 8:30 to 9:30 A.M. at the Consigli Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water Street, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 A.M. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church on Winter St. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
