Raymond Valente, 92, of Milford, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 11, 1932, he was the son of the late Erasmo and Maria (Salemme) Valente. He is survived by his brother Louis Valente and was predeceased by his brothers Libero “Lee” Valente and Cosmo Valente. He was the beloved husband of the late Joyce A. (Dauphinee) Valente and the loving father of his daughter, Dona Lisa Daly and her husband Stephen, and his son, Raymond Valente and his wife Stefanie. He was the cherished grandfather of Lauren, Steven, Ashley, and Kyle, and adoring GrandPapa to Olivia, Crew, and Lillian.
A proud first-generation American, his family roots trace back to Gaeta, Italy—a seaside resort in the province of Latina in Lazio. A gifted classical pianist, Raymond dedicated his life to music. From his relentless pursuit of mastery at the piano to earning multiple degrees in music, he built a long and respected career as a classical pianist, educator, and instructor. In retirement after years of analyzing classical works of art, he published his book; “Analyses of 101 Classical Music Masterpieces”.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Raymond was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sharing stories, laughter, and love. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures—spending countless hours at Symphony Hall, one of his favorite places, tending to his yard, and playing billiards. Raymond will be remembered for his kindness, humility, dedication to family, and lifelong passion for music.
His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched with his talent, warmth, and unwavering spirit. In keeping with his wishes, services will be private for immediate family. The Valente family deeply appreciates your love and support during this time.
