Mary Alice (Eckert) Bonina, 83, of Milford, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the Beaumont and Skilled Nursing Center in Northbridge. She was the wife of the late Paul C. Bonina Sr. who passed away in 2007. She was born in Wilkes-Barre PA, daughter of the late John and Florence Eckert and moved to Milford in 1953. She was a graduate of the St. Leo’s High School class of 1951 in Ashley PA. Mrs. Bonina retired in 2001 from the former A.J. Knot Company in Milford where she was employed as a press operator for 28 years.She was a communicant of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.Mary enjoyed baking cooking and traveling. She opened her heart and arms to everyone she met. She cherished time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, John P. Bonina and his wife Paula of Bellingham, Thomas J. Bonina of Milford, one brother William C. Eckert of NJ, five grandchildren, Melissa Bonina , who she raised, Brett Bonina and his wife Lisa of RI, Alycia B. and her husband Jacob Ostreicher of Bellingham, Bryan Bonina of Bellingham, and Josh Bonina of Milford, five great-grandchildren, Gianna Santiago and Lucas Santiago both of Milford, Gavin Ostreicher and Cooper Ostreicher both of Bellingham and John R. Bonina of RI, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Paul C. Bonina Jr., and her brothers, John T. Eckert and Robert E. Eckert.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, May 5, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church 7 East Main St. The burial will follow in the parish cemetery. A calling hour will be held prior to the funeral Mass from 8:30 to 10 A.M at the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St. Milford.
