Anthony P. (Tony) Russo, formerly of New York City and Boston, passed away on Sunday evening, August 6, 2017, at the Blair House, Milford, at the age of 95. Born in 1922 in the North End, Boston, MA, Tony was the son of Amelia (Tedeschi) and Sabino Russo. He served in the US Aircorp. In 195X, Tony moved to New York City working as a tour director for Pan American Airline. He loved to travel taking many trips to Europe, Hawaii, Asia, and the South Pacific. After his retirement, he moved to Boston where he worked at the European Restaurant in the North End. He is survived by his brother, Arthur N. Russo, three nephews Arthur A. Russo and his wife Beth, Fred Aufiero and his wife Susan, Philip Aufiero and his wife Kathy, nieces Emily Finnegan and her husband Raymond, Suzanne Ambrogi and her husband John, five great nephews Damian Russo and his wife Angela, Dana Finnegan and his wife Lauren, Matthew Aufiero and his wife Jennifer, Nicholas Ambrogi and his girlfriend Jen, John Carlo Ambrogi and his wife Ashley, two great nieces, Samantha and her husband Shawn O’Neil, Jennifer O’Connell and her husband Dan, and several great-great nieces and nephews; Olivia O’Connell, Emma O’Connell, Ronan O’Connell, Honor Russo, Damian Russo, Harper O’Neil and Hudson O’Neil. He is predeceased by two brothers Gus Russo and Phillip Russo, and two sisters Ann Sirocco and Ginger Aufiero.
A funeral home service will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 4 P.M. at the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water St., Milford, MA. A calling hour will be held prior to funeral home service from 3 to 4 P.M.
A private burial service will be held at a later date.
