Theresa G. (Ferland) Lessard, 88, of Hopedale, where she has lived for 5 years, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017 at Countryside Healthcare in Milford.
Devoted wife of 70 years to Henry P. Lessard, she was born in North Troy, VT, the daughter of the late Harvey and Rose (Maurice) Ferland.
Formerly of Claremont, NH, Milford, MA, and Bridgewater, NH, she was educated in the Claremont Schools. She was very active in sewing, stitching, and quilting for most of her life, and had formerly worked at Fenwal in Ashland
. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Paul H. Lessard of St. Francis, ME and his former wife Linda of Whitinsville, Richard J. Lessard and his wife Carol “Betsy” of Hopedale, Raymond D. Lessard of Milford, and Jane D. Locke and her husband Russell “Jay” of Franklin.
She was the sister of Robert Ferland of AZ, Mary Duhammer of FL, and the late Maurice, Raymond, Louis, Roger, and Paul Ferland, and Germaine Cook Guynup. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held from the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water St., Milford, on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017, at 10:00AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 at the Sacred Heart Church, 187 Hopedale St., in Hopedale. Burial will be held at a later date at the V.A. National Cemetery in Bourne.
Visiting hours at the funeral home, will be held on Monday evening from 5-7PM.
