Esther Mary (Ambrogi) Tominsky

Esther Mary (Ambrogi) Tominsky passed away peacefully at the age of 94 at her daughter’s home in Malabar, Florida after a brief  period of declining health.    Esther was born on Easter Sunday April 1st, 1923 and was the oldest daughter of the late Olympia (Cenedella) and Marino Ambrogi of Hopedale.  She was married for 56 years to her husband Thomas J. Tominsky who died in 2003.   Esther was also predeceased by her sister Adele Philbrick of East Falmouth and brother Alfred Ambrogi of Hopedale.. She is survived by her three children Barbara Ann Tominsky and Thomas J. Tominsky Jr of Milford and Richard Tominsky and his husband Rick Peidl of Malabar, Florida.  She is also survived by her brother Gino Ambrogi and niece Kathleen Philbrick.  Esther grew up in Hopedale and attended the St Mary’s Schools in Milford.   She worked for the Draper Corporation in Hopedale and later at General Electric Telecron in Ashland.  She was a lifelong Milford resident. In 1947 Esther married her husband Tom Tominsky and they traveled to Pocatello, Idaho on their honeymoon where Tom worked as an Umpire for the Pioneer League in the Midwest. They later returned to their home on Water Street   in Milford. She retired with her husband to their winter home in Sebastian, Florida. They spent many happy retirement years in Florida beaching, fishing and entertaining their many friends visiting from Massachusetts. Esther loved spending the entire day on the beach during winters in Florida and summers on Cape Cod and Ogunquit, Maine. She loved her oysters and wine. Esther was an animal lover and especially loved to be with her cat and constant companion Chloe-who would travel with her to Florida. Esther was a meticulous homemaker and an excellent cook. She worked many hours making her own pasta. She once said the happiest time of her life was raising her family.  Esther had a beautiful speaking and singing voice and loved music.  She played the accordion and enjoyed entertaining her friends with sing-a-longs.

There will be a funeral mass at the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 187 Hopedale Street in Hopedale at 11am on Saturday February 10th.  Burial will follow at  St. Mary’s Cemetery in Milford.   There are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of Consigli Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water ST. Milford MA.

Donations in Esther’s memory can be made to the Milford Humane Society, www.milfordhumane.org

To Esther's family and friends, please accept my heartfelt condolences on your loss. It's so hard to lose someone we love, but the seeming finality of death is what makes it especially difficult. Job 14:14,15 gives us confidence that Jehovah God yearns to bring back to life the dead who are preserved in his memory. The Bible gives us a wonderful hope of living in a paradise on earth and seeing the resurrection of our dead loved ones. (Luke 23:43; John 5:28,29) May this bring you some comfort and strength, remembering that soon God will wipe away our tears and swallow up death forever. (Isaiah 25:8)
