Joao Coelho, 92, of Blackstone, formerly of Milford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at his home. He was born in Travassos Da Cha, Portugal, he was the son of the late Jose and Conceicao (Perreira) Coelho, and came to the U.S. in 1972.
He retired in 1994 from the Loreal Company in Woonsocket. He was an avid Benfica fan, and cherished spending time with his family.
He was the brother of Amadeu Coelho of Portugal, Maria DeMoura of Blackstone, and the late Irene DeMoura, Ana Coelho, and Alfredo Coelho. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 19, 2020 at 10 AM at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 5 East Main Street, Milford. Burial will be held at a later date.
Visiting hours will be held at the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water St., Milford, on Monday morning from 8:30-9:30AM, prior to the Mass.
