Sandra Fay (Santosuosso) Brown, 80, of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida passed away on October 2, 2021 at Community Hospice in Jacksonville, Florida, surrounded by her loving family. Sandra was born in Milford, MA on October 30, 1940, daughter of Alfred N. Santosuosso and Yvonne A. (Paulette) Santosuosso. She was a resident of Milford, MA, and a 1958 graduate of Milford High School, after which she completed degrees in Business Administration at Burdett College and Computer Science at Drew University. In her career, Sandra spent many years as the probation office manager for the Trial Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, a position she excelled at and was quite proud of. Sandra moved to Florence, SC, where she met her husband (John) Odell Brown.
Sandra and her husband established Advanced Structural Systems together, a successful High Rise Storage System business. Together, the Financial Manager and Foreman/Contractor team completed business projects all around the country from 1981 - 1995. Following retirement, Odell and Sandra spent their winters in Hilton Head, SC and their summers in Wareham, MA in the beach house they built together. In 2015, Sandra moved to Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. Sandra was a kind, loving, and fiercely independent woman who was always there to be a listening ear, lend advice, or take your hand and drag you to the dance floor. Sandra loved life, music, learning, and most of all a good laugh.
A lifelong Catholic, Sandra was steadfast in her faith and was a parishioner of St. John Paul II Catholic Church in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. Sandra was, above all else, a devoted mother and grandmother, and she split her time between her family in the Northeast and Southeast for much of her life. Sandra fought a courageous battle with ovarian cancer, throughout which her grace and spirit never faltered. Sandra knew with certainty that God was with her during every step of her life, in sickness and health. Her family is grateful to God that the end of her journey was peaceful. Now God has her in His eternal care and keeping and has restored her to perfect healing.
Sandra was loved by every person who was blessed to know her, and will be deeply missed. Along with her father and mother, Sandra was also preceded in death by her sister, Shirley (Santosuosso) Bartolemei of Delray Beach, FL, her granddaughter (baby) Ellie Strickland of Claxton, GA, her loving husband of 27 years, (John) Odell Brown of Wareham, MA, and her faithful golden retriever companion, Rylee “Puff” Brown, who never left her side during her illness. Sandra is survived by her brother, Alfred R. Santosuosso and his wife Susan Santosuosso of Las Vegas, NV, her four children, Bernard Ashley and his fiancée Anne Prindeville of Bellingham, MA, Susan Ashley and her life partner Anthony J. Perry of E. Falmouth, MA, Dianne Brown and her husband Roger Brown of Waycross, GA, and Dawn Smith and her husband Windell Smith Jr. of St. Johns, FL, along with her eight grandchildren, Rebecca Fafara and her husband Michael Fafara of Sparta, NJ, Amanda Ashley and her wife Marlene DiRaimo of Uxbridge, MA, Molly Bergeron and her husband Harrison Bergeron of Athens, GA, Annie Smith of Fleming Island, FL, Ashley Smith of St. Johns, FL, Nicholas Strickland of Claxton, GA, Jack Smith of St. Johns, FL, John Smith of St. Johns, FL, several nieces and nephews, two stepchildren, three step grandchildren, and her faithful feline companion Gregree Brown.
