Consigli Ruggerio Funeral Home

John Louis Volpicelli (Johnny Vop), 79,

John Louis Volpicelli (Johnny Vop), 79, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on August 3rd at Milford Regional Hospital. The son of John L Volpicelli and Angelina Onorato Volpicelli, John grew up “down the plains” in Milford, MA. He was a graduate of Milford High School Class of 1961.  He loved cars, especially his white Pontiac convertible that he called “the Twist”.  He worked at Brunelli’s Market as a dairy manager which was the start of his long career in the grocery/food business.  A food broker, John gave up working for other brokerage companies to start his own successful business in 2016.  John was well known in the brokerage business winning the “Greater Boston Best Salesman Award” as presented by the Griffin Report.

His joy came from his family and friends and working to build a successful business. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Sandra (Derderian) Volpicelli, his daughter, Allison Johns and her husband Scott and his son Jamie Volpicelli and his wife Janel and his grandchildren, Cali, Cade, Paige and Colin.  He enjoyed time with his family, going to recitals, watching his grandsons’ little league and football games, as well as vacationing down the Cape.  John also loved entertaining his friends at home or out to dinner.

Easy to talk to, kind and loving, John was special to everyone.  With his many visits to the hospital and rehab John left a mark with all who came in contact with him medically and personally.  John’s love and adoration will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

A funeral home service will be held Tuesday August 9, 2022 at 10 A.M. at the Consigli Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St. Milford. The burial will follow in the Vernon Grove Cemetery on Depot St. Calling hours will be held Monday August 8, 2022 from 4 to 8 P.M

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of John Volpicelli to the “Oliva Family Comfort Fund” at Milford Regional Hospital, 20 Prospect Street 2nd floor, Milford, MA 01757 or Whittier Rehab Center, 150 Flanders Road, Westborough, MA 01581.
