Phyllis A. (Morte) D’Amico, 98, of Milford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at Genesis HealthCare in Milford. She was the wife of the late Dominic P. “Mimi” D’Amico who passed away in 1991. She was the daughter of the late Domenic and Laura (Muccini) Morte.
Phyllis was a lifelong Milford resident and a graduate of the Milford High School class of 1941. Phyllis was an active communicant of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Milford. She loved her family and friends, cooking, watching baseball and football, music, and keeping up with current events. Her greatest joy was spending time with her precious granddaughters.
She is survived by one daughter, Anne Brooks, of Foxboro, her granddaughters, Samantha and Sydney Brooks, her sister-in-law Rosemarie (D’Amico) Morganelli, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister Adele “Lee” Tamagni, her brother Gennaro “Spike” Morte, her brother George Morte, and her brother Dominic “Doc” Morte Jr.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at 11 AM at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 5 East Main Street, Milford, and the burial will follow at the parish cemetery. Calling hours will be held prior to the funeral Mass from 8:30 to 10:30 AM at the Consigli Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water Street, Milford.
