Your beautiful smile, happy laughter and the wonderful childhood moments we shared are sweet memories forever imprinted in my heart. May you rest in peace, my dear Cousin Joe, till the day we meet again.

When I was just a little boy my Mom had this friend who was always around. Always smiling and always just a little bit mischievous. Enough for a little boy to find a cool older friend. See my father wasn’t around so I dove headfirst into having an older, funny dude around. And I was (am) a handful, Joe never missed a smile, never dropped that grin and laughter. He came camping with us on numerous occasions. One particular year it decided to just rain like we were in the midst of a hurricane. Joe didn’t even miss a beat, smiling, laughing, and digging trenches with my grandfathers old Navy issue shovel. Since hearing of his passing I’ve been thinking of that part of my life when he was around, when I was around, and cannot find a time when that playful trouble maker smile wasn’t painted on his face. He taught me something when I was real young that I still haven’t mastered but that makes me think of him every time I attempt still into my forties. The world lost a smile when they lost Joe. Or as we called one another, Zioperhead. RIP to a real one. Thank you for the memories and rest in sweet peace my old friend. Until the next campfire lesson

The many years of the whole crowd of us camping I think Sebago was the best you truly loved it there. My son whom Joe nicknamed Zipperhead was floored by the news of your passing for many years you were the closest to a father figure & for that I will always be grateful! Soar with the angels my friend May you rest in eternal peace. Love You my brother
