Ida S. (do Souto) Dias, 97, of Milford passed away, January 6, 2023 at the Milford regional Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Virgilio A. Dias and her first husband the late Antonio Joaquim Alves. She was born in Milford, daughter of the late Francisco and Hermina (Cableira) do Souto and was raised in Portugal returning to Milford in 1958.
Ida retired in 1989 from the former Foster Forbes where she was employed as an inspector. She was a communicant of the St. Mary of the Assumption Church and a member of the Milford Portuguese Club.
She is survived by her children, Maria and her husband Antonio Pereira of Milford, Frank Alves and his wife Donna of Milford, Joseph Alves and his wife Kathy of Falmouth, Herminio Dias and his wife Karen of Bradenton FL, Fernando Dias and his wife Elaine of Whitinsville, Bruce Dias of Milford, Antonio Dias and his wife Theresa of Milford, Ronald Dias and his wife Lori of Uxbridge, fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five brothers and one sister.
The funeral will be held Friday, January 13, 2023 at 9 A.M. from the Consigli Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St. Milford MA. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10 A.M. at the St. Mary of the Assumption Church on Winter St. The burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery on Cedar St. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4 to 7 P.M.
