Henry P. Lessard, 101, of Hopedale, passed away Monday, May 15, 2023 at Blaire House of Milford. He was the husband of the late Theresa (Ferland) Lessard who passed away in 2017. He was born in Quebec, Canada, son of the late Gideon and Anna (Simoneau) Lessard and moved to Hopedale in 2012. He was educated in the Milford schools. He was a World War II Army veteran.
Mr. Lessard was a self-employed carpenter and retired in 1984. In his early years he was employed as an inspector in the shuttle room at the former Draper Corporation in Hopedale. He is survived by his children, Paul Lessard of Maine, Richard Lessard and his wife Carol of Hopedale, Raymond Lessard of Hopedale, Jane and her husband Jay Locke of Franklin, Daughter in law Linda Lessard, one sister Irene Bunnell of NH, seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by six sisters, Cecile Bedard, Simone Birmingham, Theresa Barry, Rita Scott, Alice Lessard and Claire Lessard and three brothers, Norman Lessard, Robert Lessard and Maurice Lessard.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday May 22, 2023 at 10 A.M. at the Sacred Heart Church on Hopedale St. Hopedale Ma.10 A.M. The burial will be private at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
Calling hours will be held Sunday from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Consigli Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St. Milford.
