John J. Grillo, 89, of Milford, died Thursday, March 24, 2011
in the Geriatric Authority of Milford. He was the husband of Antoinette
“Netta” Grillo fo 63 years. He was born in Milford, son of the late
Nicola and Sebastiana (Corriera) Grillo and was a life long Milford
resident. Mr. Grillo was a graduate of the Milford high School class of
1939. He was a World War II Army Veteran.
Mr. Grillo retired in 1976 from the former Cushing Hospital in
Framingham where he was employed as a Urological Technician. Previously
he was employed at the Volpe Fisher Company as an inventory control
person and was employed at the 495 Toyota in Distribution.
He was a communicant of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, a member of
the D.A.V. Chapter 6, Milford Italian American Veterans, National
organization of Retired Federal Workers, friends of the Milford Seniors
and Italian American Veterans Bocce League.
In Addition to his wife he is survived by one John N. and
his wife Ellie (Peace) Grillo of Freeport ME, Joan A. and her husband
Kenneth Forbes of Mendon, five grandchildren, Shawn Forbes of Mendon,
Jodi and her husband Michael Menard of Whitinsville, Bradley Grillo,
Cameron Grillo and Morgan Grillo all of Freeport ME and many nieces and
nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers Anthony Grillo,
Salvatore Grillo, Albert Grillo, Charles Grillo and his sisters Santina
Markakis, Anita Sannicandro, Janice Panagian, Louise Pillarella and
Pauline Laczenski.
The funeral will be held Monday, March 28, 2011, at 11 A.M. from
the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St. A mass of Christian
burial will be celebrated at 12 noon in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church
7 East Main St. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery on
Medway Rd. in Milford.
Calling hours will be held Sunday from 5 to 8 P.M.
