Anthony R “Rudy” Peroni, 95, of Milford, died Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at the Geriatric Authority of Milford, where he resided for the past 2 years. He was born in Milford, son of the late Giuseppe and Giuseppina (D’Antonio) Peroni. He attended Milford Schools and served in the Army as a Technician in the Engineer Combat Battalion during World War II. Mr. Peroni worked for many years at the Whitin Machine Works in Whitinsville, MA. He was a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. He was an avid musician who played saxophone, piano, and clarinet and passed along his love of music to his family. He founded the “Rudy Peroni Trio” which played for many years at various locations throughout the area. He was also a longtime member of the Milford Concert Band. He is survived by his sister Jennie Peroni, longtime companion Josephine Pillarella, nephew Pat Moro, and niece Rose Luchini. Affectionately known as “Uncle T’, he is also survived by many great nieces and nephews as well as the loving and caring staff of the Geriatric Authority. He was predeceased by his brother Ben Peroni, sisters Mary Andreola, Rose Cimino, Sadie Peroni, Lena Moro, and nephews Anthony and Joe Cimino. A mass of Christian burial will be held Monday April 18, 2011 at 11 A.M. in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 7 East Main St. Milford. Burial will follow in the Saint Mary’s cemetery. Calling hours are Monday from 8:30-10:30 A.M. at the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water St. Milford.
