Emilio P. “Sonny” Mancini, 73,

Emilio P. “Sonny” Mancini, 73, of Milford, died Wednesday, June 1, 2011 in the Milford Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family and caregivers. During his long illness he was cared for by his loving family and caregivers. He was born in Milford, son of the late Michael and Lucy (Simone) Mancini and was a life long Milford resident. He was a Graduate of the Sacred Heart grammar school in 1952 and from St. Mary’s High School in 1956. His Classmates posted in the his yearbook: “his talent, art and his fortune, his heart” and that he was the life of the party. While attending school he worked part time at the Porter Shoe Company and the Milford Shoe Company in Milford. Emilio was a graduate of the Berklee School of Music in Boston and appeared on the Dave Maynard “Community Auditions”. He was an avid fan of singer Elvis Presley. He was also a graduate of the Butera School of Art in Boston in 1960, where he was offered a job as instructor in school upon graduation. He worked for Milford Neon Sign Company and started his own business, Signs by Mancini in 1961, serving Metro West, Boston and the Cape Cod area. He enjoyed his work as sign painter, communicating with business and community leaders. He also enjoyed working in the garden growing vegetables with his father.    Emilio was a member for six years, of Company I, 181st Infantry of the Massachusetts National Guard,  that trained at fort drum NY. His unit was called to serve when a Tornado hit in Worcester in 1953, and in 1955 the unit was sent to Southbridge when Hurricane Diane hit Central Massachusetts. He was a communicant at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.   He is survived by his brothers Frank Mancini, Anthony and his wife Helen Mancini all of Milford, his nieces Arlene Mulley of Douglas, Gina and her husband Shane Giblin and his grand niece Siena Giblin all of Spring Valley CA, his nephews Michael and his wife Joyce Mancini of Milford, Marc Mancini of Upton, his grand nephews Michael and Derek Mancini both of Milford. He was the brother of the late Mary (Mancini) Mulley and Pasquale “Patsy” Mancini and the uncle of the late Lucille (Mulley) Iacovelli.   A mass of Christian burial will be held Monday June 6, 2011 at 11 A.M. in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church 7 East Main St. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Medway Rd in Milford Calling hours will be held Monday morning prior to the funeral mass from 9 to 10:30 A.M. in the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St. In Leau of flowers contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis TN 38105

Sonny was a great guy. It's too bad he had such a terrorist for a niece. Arlene Mulley abused his trust and spread lies about her sister Lucille throughout the family and used a spoof card to make harassing phone calls to Sonny when he was sick. I hope she didn't get any kind of inheritance. She definitely does not deserve it if she did.
