Claire C. Villani, 83,

 Claire C. Villani, 83, of Milford, died Friday, August 12, 2011, at Milford Regional Medical Center after a short illness. She was the wife of John A. Villani of 62 years. She was born in Milford, daughter of the late Mary (Consoletti) Gritte and Martin Gritte. Mrs. Villani was a lifelong Milford resident. She was a graduate of Milford High School, class of 1946. Mrs. Villani was a retired employee of the former Milford Savings Bank, where she worked as head teller until 1987.  She was a communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Milford, and a former member of the Sacred Heart Women’s Club, the Milford Senior Bowling League, and the women’s bocce league of the Italian-American Veterans’ Club in Milford. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Paula Bruggeman and her husband, Jack of Vienna, VA, and Karen Gulledge of Greensboro, NC; one sister, Eleanor Gritte of Hopedale, MA; two granddaughters, Emily Bruggeman of McLean, VA and Karyn Bruggeman of San Francisco, CA; two brothers-in-law Frank Villani and his wife Norma of Port Orange, FL and Anthony Villani and his wife, Dianna, of Collegeville, PA; two sisters-in-law Mary Villani of Milford and Marilyn Gritte of Fairfax, VA; a nephew Brian Gritte of Fairfax Station, VA; and two nieces, Deborah Goss of Hopedale, MA and Cheryl Lowman of Perry Hall, MD.  She is also predeceased by her brother, Alphonse Gritte, formerly of St. Petersburg, FL, and a granddaughter, Kathryn Claire Bruggeman. The funeral will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 9:00 AM from the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 AM in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church on East Main Street, Milford. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Medway Rd. in Milford. The calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday, August 16, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the national Alzheimer’s Association, P.O.
