Nicholas Cardone, Jr., 84 of Phoenix, Arizona passed away Friday January 27, 2012 after a lengthy illness. He was the son of the late Nicholas and Louise Cardone of Milford, Massachusetts. Nick was a graduate of Milford High School class of 1945 and a World War II Navy Veteran. He had a love of music and was an accomplished musician playing in the band called The Three C’s in the 1940’s. He worked at Metropolitan Life for 32 years and retired to Arizona in 1989. He was a member of Corpus Christ Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. His greatest love was his family and he is survived by his wife of 62 years, Evelyn (Pond) from Medway, Massachusetts. He leaves three children, son Daniel Cardone and his wife Caren of Lynne, Massachusetts, and daughters Donna and her husband Richard DePonte, and Judy and her husband Rudy Hacker all of Phoenix, Arizona. Nick is survived by 5 grandchildren Austin DePonte of Flagstaff, Arizona, Taylor DePonte of Seattle, Washington, Marielle Cardone of Lynne, Massachusetts and Paige and Grayson Hacker of Phoenix, Arizona. He is also survived by sisters Philomena Pagnini & her husband Ronald of Milford, Massachusetts, Anna Nardi of Mendon, Massachusetts and brother-in-law Russell Anderson of Wilbraham, Massachusetts. Nick was predeceased by his brother Daniel and sister Marie Anderson. In addition Nick leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends. A private gravesite service will take place Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at10 AM in the Hopedale Village Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Hospice of the Valley.
