Joseph A. Nogueira, 89,

       Joseph A. Nogueira, 89, of Milford, died Saturday, December 1, 2012 in the Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Anna A. (Azevedo) Nogueira; they were married for 65 years.  He was born in Milford, son of the late John and Arminda (Pires) Nogueira and was a life long Milford resident. He was educated in the Milford Public schools.He served in World War II in the Pacific theatre as a member of the U.S. Navy Seabees. 
      He was employed for many years at the Bayer-Mingolla Construction Co.  in Worcester as a heavy equipment operating engineer.  He later worked for the Lundgren Construction Company, until he retired in 1985. 
    He was a member of the Milford Portuguese Club, a member of the D.A.V. Chapter #6 and a communicant of the St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church.
    In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons, Joseph J. Nogueira and his wife Margaret of Mendon, Robert Nogueira of Mendon, Kenneth Nogueira and his wife Lynn of Franklin, one brother James Nogueira of Milford, one sister Gloria Dias of Milford, five grandchildren, Amy, Mark, Daniel, Thomas Nogueira and Bethany Vilandry, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
   He was predeceased by his brother Enrico Nogueira.
   A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday December 4, 2012 at 10 A.M. in the St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church on Winter St in Milford.
   The burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery on Cedar St. in Milford. Calling hours will be Tuesday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 A.M. in the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St. Milford Ma.
   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Countryside Healthcare-Activity Fund, 1 Countryside Drive, Milford, MA 01757, or to a charity of ones choosing.
