Francisco Correia, 91,
of Milford, passed away Tuesday October 29, 2013, peacefully surrounded by his family and friends in the Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Clementina (Rodrigues) Correia who passed away in 2010. He was born in Valdegas, Portugal, son of the late Anibal and Carolina (Teixeira) Correia and moved to Milford in 1969. While in Portugal he served in the Portuguese Army.
He retired in 1984 from the Clark-Cutler McDermott Company in Franklin where he was employed as a machinist.
Mr. Correia was proud and admired his children, grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. His greatest pastime was gardening and gatherings with his family and friends.
He was a communicant of the St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church and the Milford Portuguese Club.
He is survived by one son Abel and his wife Maria Correia of Milford, two daughters Gracinda and her husband Tobias DaCosta of Portugal, Maria Augusta and her husband Joaquim (Jack) Goncalves of Milford, grandchildren Susana Claro of Milford, Albano Correia of Milford, Arminda Benjamin of Milford, Jason Goncalves and Jack Goncalves both of Milford, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two children Carolina Correia and Augusto Correia.
The funeral will be held Monday, November 4, 2013 at 9 A.M from the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St. Milford MA. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M. in the St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church on Winter St. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Sunday from 5 to 8 P.M.
