Pasqualine M. “Lena” (Melpignano) Brandin, 94

Pasqualine M. “Lena” (Melpignano) Brandin, 94, of Milford, passed away February 7, 2014 in the Lydia Taft House in Uxbridge. She was the wife of Sidon H. Brandin who died in 2000. She was born in Milford, daughter of the late Nicola and Theresa (Prece) Melpignano and was a lifelong Milford resident. She was a graduate of the Milford High School class of 1937.  
     Mrs. Brandin retired in 1984 from the former Hopedale Gardens Nursing Home in Hopedale Ma, where she was employed in housekeeping and the kitchen. In her early years she was employed at the former Karteganer’s Hat Shop in Upton where she was employed in many facets of hat making.     
    She was a communicant of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, a member of the Daughters of Italy, past president of the Birmingham Court Association, past president of the Frascotti Post VFW Ladies Auxiliary and past president of the Sacred Heart Women’s Club.
     She is survived by her children, Martin N. and his wife Frances (Kijek) Brandin of Upton, Theresa A. Coolberth of Whitinsville, one brother Robert Melpignano of Barnstable, three grandchildren, Ashley Brandin of Upton, Jacob and his wife Mariangela Coolberth of Ashland, Nicola Coolberth of Washington DC, two great-grandchildren Jacob Coolberth and Sebastian Coolberth both of Ashland, many nieces and nephews.
     She was predeceased by her brothers Joseph Melpignano, Nicholas Melpignano and Leo Melpignano.       
        The funeral will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 9 A.M. from the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St. in Milford. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 A.M. in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church 7 East Main St. 
     Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. 
    Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 4 to 7 P.M.

Dear Terrie, Carol and I are sad to hear of the death of your Mother. She was a beautiful and gracious lady. We are sorry that we couldn't be there for you and your family at this time.
