Robert (Bob) James Cenedella, 91, of Milford, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2014, at Countryside Healthcare at the age of 91. He was born on Dec. 23, 1922 in a house on the corner of Purchase & North Pleasant Street, never living further than 100 feet away. He was the son of Laura (Lucier) and Peter Cenedella, and the brother of Mildred (Cenedella) Morse and George Cenedella. During WWII, he served in the Army both in Europe and the Philippines.
He loved music and played the accordion for more than seventy years. He was known to befriend all the neighborhood dogs and make nutritious snacks for them. He had many friends and loved to talk about his garden, music and animals.
Married to Ada Zacchilli in October 1949, they were married for 59 years. Ada passed away in 2008. Retired from Dennison’s, he worked as a machine operator. Bob is survived by many nieces and nephews, including Sheila Swanwick and Maureen Tomaso who oversaw his healthcare for the past seven years. Bob is also survived by his brother-in-law Donald Belforti, who was also a great friend.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday September 22, 2014 at 10 A.M. in the lower Church, at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church 7 East Main St. Milford.
Visiting hours will be held Monday prior to the funeral mass at Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water Street, Milford, MA
