Luigina “Gina” (DeMatteis) Mazzini, 95

Luigina “Gina” (DeMatteis) Mazzini, 95, of Milford, passed away Monday, February 9, 2015 at the Countryside Healthcare of Milford. She was the wife of the late Hugo E. Mazzini who passed away in 2002. She was born in Milford daughter of the late Luigi and Giuletta (D’Antonio) DeMatteis and was lifelong Milford resident. She was a graduate of the Milford High School class of 1937 Mrs. Mazzini was employed at the former Draper Corporation in Hopedale and the former Volpe Tool and Die Company in Milford for many years. She was a communicant of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, a former member of the Sacred Heart Choir, member of the Sacred Heart Women’s Club.
She is survived by her children, Joseph H. Mazzini and his wife Norma of Milford, Louise J. Conner of Milford, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Julianne Duridas, one brother Daniel DeMatteis, two sisters Olga DeMatteis and Lillian Amantea.
The funeral will be held Monday, February 16, 2015 at 9 A.M. from the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M. at the Sacred Heart Church of Jesus Church 7 East Main St. Milford. The burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Sunday from 5 to 8 P.M.
