Jose De Barros, 88,

Jose De Barros, 88, of Milford, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2015 at the Countryside Healthcare in Milford. He was the husband of the late Adelina (Gomes) De Barros who passed away in 2005. He was born in Moimenta, Portugal son of the late Francisco Tomaz Dos Santos and Emilia De Barros and immigrated to Milford in 1966.
Mr. De Barros retired in 1976 from the former Henley Lundgren Company in Shrewsbury where he was employed as a laborer.
He was a communicant of the St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church in Milford and a member of the Milford Portuguese Club.
He is survived by his children, Fatima and her husband Domenic Afonso of Milford, Mario De Barros and his wife Marcia of France, Jose Gomes and his wife Maria of Milford, Joaquim Gomes and his wife Cecile of Millville, Delmina Goncalves, Ana Ramos, Maria Aurora Pinto all of Milford, Maria Dias of Hopedale, one brother Francisco De Barros of Portugal, five grandchildren, Suzette Ferreira, Diana Afonso Lucas, Anabela Barros Angelique Barros, Elodie Barros, twenty-six step-grandchildren, thirty-three great grandchildren, many great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Ana De Barros and Maria L. DaSilva.
The funeral will be held Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 9 A.M. from the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M. at the St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church on Winter St. in Milford. The burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Friday from 5 to 8 P.M.
