Catherine M. “Ma” (Tassone) DeLuca, 94, of Milford MA, passed away August 10, 2016 at the Countryside Healthcare of Milford. She was the wife of the late Alfred “Buddy” DeLuca for 63 years before his passing in 2009. She was the daughter of the late Luigi and Francesca (Vasile) Tassone and was a lifelong Milford resident. She was educated in the Milford schools.
Mrs. Deluca was employed at the former Cushing Hospital in Framingham, but was well known as the friendly face behind the counter at the former Sabatino’s Bakery in Milford.
She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary at the Milford Italian Veterans and a communicant of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.
She is survived by her children, Alfred DeLuca and his wife Carlene of Millbury, Robert DeLuca and his wife Charlene of Douglas, Kathleen and her husband Leonard Garabedian of Mendon, ten grandchildren, Leonard Garabedian, Kevin Garabedian, Renee Garabedian, Mark DeLuca, Christopher Deluca, Robert DeLuca Jr., Michael DeLuca, Rebecca DeLuca, David DeLuca and Ashley DeLuca, eighteen great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was especially grateful for her wonderful nieces Donna Mulvey and Elnora Rubin, also grateful for Marilyn DeLuca. She was predeceased by her sisters, Yola Vasile and Clara Kloczkowski, her brothers, Nicholas Tassone and Louis Tassone.
The funeral will be held Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 9 A.M from the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St. Milford MA. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 A.M. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church 7 East Main St. Milford. The burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Calling hours will be held Friday, August 12, 2016 from 5 to 8 P.M.
