Steven I. Kakela 74, of Mendon, passed away November 24, 2023 surrounded by his family at the Hope Hospice Health in Providence RI. He was the husband of Pamela L. (Shaw) Kakela for 55 years. He was born in Providence RI, son of the late John and Eileen (Reardon) Kakela and lived in Providence RI and Milford MA before moving to Mendon in 1980. He was educated in the providence school. He was a Vietnam War Army veteran.
Mr. Kakela retired in 2018 from the former Foster Forbes Company in Milford where he was employed as an up keep person.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Missy Kakel-Boisvert and her husband Todd Boisvert of Mendon, Kim Kakela Ruiz of Douglas and her fiancée Paul Secatore of Ashland, five grandchildren, AJ Fontana and his husband Angelo Fontana of Shrewsbury, Katelyn Bottoms and Victoria Bottoms of Mendon, Justin Ruiz and Kasey Ruiz of Douglas, one brother John Kakela of Coventry RI.
Calling hours will be held Friday December 1, 2023 from 1 to 3 P.M. followed by a funeral home service at the Consigli Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St. Milford MA.
The burial will be at the convenience of the family.
