Ada (Niro) Civitillo, 84

Ada (Niro) Civitillo, 84 of Milford, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at the Milford Regional Medical Center. She was the wife of Angelo Civitillo for 65 years. She was born in Pietra, Montecorvino, Italy, daughter of the late Leopoldo and Maria (Cocchiarella) Niro and moved to Milford in 1954.

She married her husband in 1959 and after a honeymoon in Niagara Falls they settled in Milford where they raised four children together. Ada retired in 2002 from the former Westboro State Hospital where she was employed in Housekeeping. She was previously employed in housekeeping at the former Cushing Hospital in Framingham.

She was an avid card player and  enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was well known for her home cooking and her hospitality.  

In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Robert Civitillo of Milford, Linda and her husband Richard Tavares of Bellingham, Anna and her husband John Morais of Northbridge, Christine and her husband Glenn Cochran of Uxbridge, two brothers, Pietro Niro of Italy, Leonardo Niro of Milford, three sisters, Lina Niro of Milford, Carmella Caezza of Milford, Imelda Fisher of Leominster, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.           

A calling hour will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2024 from 8:30 to 9:30 A.M. at the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water St., Milford. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10 A.M. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church 5 East Main St. Milford MA. The burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Medway Rd in Milford.
