Alan J Williams, 70

Alan “Al” James Williams Unwavering Father & Spouse; Tireless Craftsman. Resident of Milford, Massachusetts, Alan J Williams, age 70 passed on at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.  Al was born in 1954 in Syracuse, New York to Margaret and Aldelbert Williams. He loved living an active, creative, and energetic life and he was adept at numerous hobbies and skills, from playing guitar, to woodworking, fishing and drawing. He was an outdoorsman, skilled with his hands and his trades. He loved the morning sunrise which he watched almost every day.

Al especially loved the sight of the wilderness and the wonders of the natural world, such as the Grand Canyon, upon which his ashes shall be scattered. In his earlier years, Alan spent a large portion of his youth in Arizona with his nine brothers and sisters, all blood descendants of the Mohawk tribe. He was a track star in school before enlisting in military active duty in the United States Air Force from January 1975 to December 1980. He attained the rank of Sergeant before being honorably discharged.

Al married Jeanne Coughlin, whom he met while on active duty. They were inseparable. They were best friends and lifelong soulmates until the very day he passed. Even after his passing the love of 46 years continues to endure. They were graced with one child, Zachry James Williams.

Much of Alan's working career was spent in maintenance at the Blaire House of Milford, where he worked side by side with his son and his wife.   He was well-loved by the entire community and everyone he met. With his mechanical expertise and trade skills there was nothing he couldn’t fix, and more importantly, he would mend the hearts of the people close to him with his endless supply of good humor, optimism, and kindness. He has joined seven of his siblings in heavenly glory and is survived by his spouse, Jeanne, his son, Zachry, and his sister, Tina.

Al will always be remembered by all the people in life he touched the hearts of for his strength, compassion, responsibility, reliability, and infinite faithfulness to his loved ones. The very town and grounds upon which he walked upon; which he worked until the month of his passing; have his life interwoven inseparably and irreplaceably within. He gave his all, every second of his life. He gave his all until the very last moment. There is no doubt he shall continue to do so as he looks down and watches over those who remain, from his seat in paradise.

Dear Jeanne and Zach. Our delay in posting has only been in our inability to put into words how Al’s passing has affected us. We will miss the chats that we had and the stories he told. He never failed to put a smile on our faces and that is what we will miss the most. Please know that he was a wonderful person, one that people don't get to meet very often if ever. And that is what made Al a rare and unique individual. We were blessed to have known him and are so sorry for your loss.

I am saddened to learn of Al’s passing. He was such a good person.. He worked hard and was a great blessing to Blaire House, its residents and all his coworkers. He was loyal and took his job like a family responsibility- not just a job. Many thanks to Al for making my job easier knowing he and Jeannie were always on top of every facility need. God may he rest in peace and bless Jeannie and Zach with many happy memories to lead them through this difficult time.

So many memories with you Al over 40 years. Going to miss you! It was too soon! I am still in shock. You were one of the better ones. Zach was lucky to have such a wonderful father and Jean a loyal and loving husband. RIP. No snowstorm or work emergency will be the same without you. If there is a heaven, I know you are up there with that smile looking down on us. Thank you for always being there when I needed help.

My dearest big brother I will always remember our growing up. I think I was your favorite. You always told me our other sisters would fight. I'll always miss our 2 hour phone calls and jokes we would laugh so much. My beautiful handsome Tom Selleck look alike. There are no words to say, because you know exactly what I would say. I will always love you to the universe and back. Give everyone in heaven a big hug and kiss. I'll see you when I get there. Love your baby sister Tina. 💋❤💋❤💋❤💋❤💋

My heart broke when I heard that Al had passed away….He was a good friend to me when I worked at Blaire House. Always smiling and ready to help when you needed him!! My fondest memory was when I paged him because we had strawberry shortcake and I heated his biscuit! He thought that was the greatest thing and called Jeanie and told her I warmed his buns before serving it to him!! Always had some good laughs with Al! He will be sadly missed by all that knew him….. My thoughts and prayers are with Jean and Zach and all who knew him….

My heart is broken hearing about Al's passing. I know he is resting in peace. I will never forget him after working with him for many years. Whenever I saw him I would get a " hey kid, how you doing?". Always with a big smile and willing to do anything asked of him. He will be missed by everyone. He touched so many people. We lost a good one when we lost Al. 🙏💔
