Aldo B. Consigli, Jr. ,77,

Aldo B. Consigli, Jr. ,77, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer on July 15, 2024. He was the loving husband of Elizabeth (Griffin) Consigli for 54 years. Born in Brockton on June 7, 1947 to the late Rismonte (Iervolino) and Aldo Consigli, Sr., he grew up in Milford before moving to Upton in 1960 where he resided for the rest of his life. He was part of a very large extended family that included many aunts, uncles and cousins.

After graduating from Nipmuc Regional High School in Mendon, Massachusetts, in 1965, where he was an outstanding basketball and baseball player, he attended the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, graduating in 1969 with a B.A. in Economics. He then went on to Villanova School of Law where he received his J.D. in 1972. Admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1972, Attorney Consigli devoted a large part of his career to title examination and real estate conveyancing. He was employed as an Attorney and a Title Examiner by Worcester County Abstract Company in Worcester, Massachusetts from 1972 through 1976.

Thereafter, he entered private practice as a solo practitioner until 1978. In February of that year, he and his lifelong friend Charles J. Brucato, Jr. founded the firm of Consigli and Brucato, P.C.  which is still in practice to this day. Aldo had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making people happy. He found great joy in helping people in need and serving others.

Throughout his life, he volunteered his time to many organizations including the Upton Youth Club coaching soccer, basketball and baseball for many years. He served as a selectman for the Town of Upton in the late 1970s as well as past president of the Upton Kiwanis Club. He was a faithful member of Holy Angels Parish and then St. Gabriel the Archangel in Upton. He enjoyed spending time in Wells, Maine with his wife and family. Aldo was happiest when surrounded by his children, their spouses, and grandchildren. He spent most of his time going from fields to stages and other various locations proudly cheering all of them on. He was proud of all of them and happily shared each of their accomplishments with whoever would listen.

Aldo is survived by two brothers: James Consigli and his partner Lorretta White of Northbridge and John Consigli and his wife Gale (Bobick) of Chester, NH. Four children: Brian and Tracy (Rogers) of Mendon, Craig and Stephanie (Sampson) of Northbridge, Adam and Kerri (Giannino) of Grafton and Jayson and Alyssa (Consigli) Parrott of Hinesburg, VT. He was also survived by 12 grandchildren: Griffin, Mason, Avery, Elliott (Molly), Eben, Amelia, Rita, Lila, Juliet, Charlotte, Ellen and Abigail.

The funeral will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 10 A.M. from the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St Milford Ma. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 A.M. in the St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish 151 Mendon St in Upton Ma. Burial will follow in the Lakeview Cemetery in Upton MA. Calling hours will be held Friday from 5 to 8 P.M.

In lieu of flowers donation can be made to the Oliva Family Comfort Fund 20 Prospect St. Milford MA 01757

To the Consigli Family, and to Charlie Brucato as well, I worked with Al in my earliest days as an examiner at WCAC, and he was the life of the company! We had so many good laughs… he was a jokster for sure. He and Jackie Langlois were two special people and made a great team working together. I’m so very sorry for your loss. I had no idea that he was so ill. He was a fine attorney and top-notch title examiner. I have many stories, and lots of them about his wonderful kids. He was so proud of you all. I remember Brian’s birth… he came into the office loudly proclaiming, “It’s a boy!” Such a great guy so full of joy and love. May his name always be for blessing.
Paula Selvitella

Betty, I’m sorry to hear the news about Aldo’s passing. My heart goes out to you and your whole big, wonderful family. He will be remembered and missed in so many ways. Sending my love and comfort to you all.

Whale, hard to grasp the fact you’re gone......thinking back to School Days when you’d get on the bus carrying every book in your desk and proceed to elaborate on what you’d done in each of them....always worrying about not studying enough and dreading a possible pop quiz. Can’t forget so many great times on floors and fields.....your corner Rocking-Horse jumpers were shots I’ll always remember and as I do remember, more than a few of them actually went in..........real fond memories of helping you coach CYC Basketball.....plenty of characters there but they all loved Aldo! Most of all Whale I most admire and respect the fact that you always put your family first—-coaching, watching, helping in any way, you were always their #1 fan and they knew it.. My sincerest condolences to family and Aldo’s many, many friends... Johnny mac

I still cannot believe you are gone, Dad. You left us too early and I miss you terribly. You are my north star and always with me. I have so many fond memories of spending time with you – playing catch in the backyard, batting practice sessions at the softball field, driving all over New England listening to our favorite CDs on the way to the boy’s games or events, reading books on the beach in Maine, working alongside you in your office, learning how to complete title runs at the Registry of Deeds, walking me down the aisle and introducing you to my girls for the first time. You always believed in me and supported me in doing things I did not even know I could do. You never missed a game, dance recital, or school performance while I was growing up and you always made each of us feel special. As a parent now, I just do not know how you did it all. You were always there and always willing to answer my calls, even if you were in a meeting or closing (sorry!). You were a tremendous listener, offering great advice and guidance, and I could always count on you for a good laugh! You welcomed Jayson into our family and loved our girls so much. Amelia and Charlotte always looked forward to sharing pictures, videos, and stories of their accomplishments (and sometimes even failures) with you and despite the distance between Vermont and Massachusetts, they always felt your presence and support. Words cannot describe what you mean to me and the hole I now feel in my heart. My memories provide me comfort and knowing you will always be with me, watching over us, and cheering us on from above will keep me moving forward. I love you, Daddy.
Love, Alyssa

To Aldo's loving family (and to Charlie as well) I extend my deepest sympathy. He was a wonderful man who possessed both a keen intellect and a spirited sense of humor. He was a consummate professional and served as a mentor to me and many other attorneys. I will miss him. Joe Antonellis (or as Aldo called me Joey Anta)

Dear Betty and family, our deepest sympathy goes out to you in this difficult time, when our kids were growing up they were in sports together with Aldo as their coach. Many fun times at the baseball field. May he rest in peace,
Edward and Mary Jean Phillips

The Consigli family, Charlie and everyone at the Law Firm, and the community have lost a truly great man. Aldo always had a corny "dad joke" to tell, and had an infectious laughter. Though my friendship was a casual and professional one , I came to realize that the friendship went back 31 years. May all who loved Aldo find peace with your happy memories of him. May he fly high and rest well. He will truly be missed by so many.
Tina Smith

Dear Brian and family. I am so sorry for the loss of your dad. He was one of my favorite attorneys to work with. I loved all his stories that he loved to tell. He loved his family so much. He will be sorely missed. He was one of the best!
Jan Drapeau (Tom McLaughlin’s office)

Dear Betty and Family, We are deeply sorry for your loss. Aldo will surely be missed by all of us.

Betty and Family, Bill and I knew Aldo since our high school days when St. Mary’s played against Nipmuc in basketball in the mid 1960’s. There has always been friendship and respect for Aldo’s intelligence, work ethic and kindness . Aldo and Betty have always been great friends and were “across the street neighbors” in Upton for decades. Our children were friends and it was always accepted that both families were there for each other. Before my first husband Bill passed in 2018, ithere was many a night I had to call on the steadfast Consiglis across the street for help while awaiting the EMT’s. You could not ask for better friends or neighbors. They always showed up, and in a time of crisis that is so important. Aldo, was Our neighbor, our friend and our lawyer, and you could not ask for a better man. Please accept our sincere condolences. Aldo, we will miss you. Rosemary Quirk Furbush

“Wheels”, I used to tell Aldo of your two home runs in one game. I miss him, as we always ran into each other at the post office. He did all our houses and his smile was contagious. I promised him a ride on my classic, he said he would wait till my MG grows more. I told Aldo how I met another of his kids as he was doing his rounds at Milford hospital. I thanked him, as it was all him. I will miss him Brian(“Wheels”), I will always miss him. Thanks Aldo for ALL you gave us brother. Rock Figueroa

Brian and family, I truly feel blessed that I had the opportunity to work for such an amazing man. His kind eyes and gentle soul will always be remembered. The way he made us all laugh, with his jokes ... lots of times ragging on Brian! I would sit up front at the desk and listen to him, and Charlie carry on in the offices in back, laughing and cracking up over old times. It would always put a smile on my face!! He will be dearly missed. The way his death has affected this community, his clients that considered him part of his family always calling the office and checking in on how he is doing... so many people concerned and now deeply sadden, has brought me to realize what an amazing man Aldo truly was. He was a worker, a family man, a man involved in his community, a giver, a comforter, and will always and forever be respected and remembered. God bless you, Aldo. My deepest sympathy to the Consigli Family.
Jennifer Speight (Nisil)

Betty, Brian, And Family, Aldo’s parents lived next to my parents in Upton. When Aldo was graduating from high school, I was just one year old so we really didn’t know each other very well. Later in life my parents Fritz & Margaret Introduced me to Aldo for all things legal. He helped Aaron and I with our first will and continued with other things for over 20 years. When do you love meeting with a lawyer…. well you do when it’s Aldo; we loved talking with him and laughing. Sending hugs to the family. Aldo we all miss you already.
Susan Gorius

Aldo, I wish I could tell you and Charlie one more story…..you being who you are……couldn’t believe what I used to say……your smile said it all as you and “the Bronk” laughed…..rest in peace….more stories will follow one of these days…..God bless you and may he look over your family
Charlie Tomaso

My deepest sympathy to the Consigli family. It was always a pleasure working with Aldo whether he was helping with a title issue or on the other side of a case. He will be missed. Sincerely, Bob Calagione

Whale, I know you are looking down at me as I write this and saying “Grant, you A—hole”. I just want you to know how much you have always meant to me. We have been together since 8th grade. We were in all our classes together 8-12. You were a STUDENT. Thanks for your Trig homework as I was probably watching the Celtics instead. We played baseball and basketball for 4 high school years as we captained both team's our senior year. We were starters on the 1964 Clark Tournament Championship team along with Johnny McDonnell, Dennis Paige, and David Teachout. Your play was #22, double screen on the baseline for a 12’ jumper. In baseball we won the Tri-Valley Divisional Championship our junior and senior year. YOU were known for your long home runs, “The Power of the Whale”. I will always remember your attempt to steal home having thought Coach Byrne gave you the sign. You were a great athlete, an outstanding student and best of all a super friend of mine throughout our lives. I admired you for your steadfast commitment to your studies in high school, college education at Holy Cross and Villanova Law School. You were a devoted parent and grandparent. You always had an unbelievable work ethic that led to a most respected law practice with your partner and friend, Charles Brucato. I love you Aldo. God Bless “Whalebones” Jimmy

I don't know what say. The last time we spoke in he reminded me how we had been best friends for 65 years. I will always cherish our friendship, and I was humbled that he called me his friend. God bless buddy.

To all my Consigli friends and the entire extended family: I have considered Aldo my own "big brother", in many ways, for over fifty years. From the days of Nipmuc basketball, to the fact that he helped transfer our Upton homestead, twice, he was always smiling, always kind, and always there. His life in Law was greater than my own professional life, and many people share the loss and our sorrow. May the peace of memories of your lives together with him always carry you forward.
Joe Biedrzycki

Betty and family, our deepest sympathy on Aldo's passing. He was a great man. Domenic and I loved and admired him. He was down to earth and so knowledgeable! We will miss him. Domenic and Tina Afonso
