Jane E. (Sweeney) Moran, 66,

Jane E. (Sweeney) Moran, 66, of Bourne, where she has lived for 10 years, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Thursday morning, February 9, 2017 at Genesis Healthcare in Milford.

Formerly a longtime resident of Milford, She was the devoted wife of 46 years to Peter A. Moran. She was the daughter of the late Daniel and Eleanor (Donahue) Sweeney, and had retired in 2006 from NSTAR, where she worked as an administrative assistant for 10 years.

She was raised in Norwood, and was a graduate of Norwood High School, class of 1968. She had also earned her associates degree in business from Dean Jr. College in Franklin. She left an impression on all who knew her, and loved having fun. Even in the face of adversity, she maintained a wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed bowling, winters in Florida with her husband, summers at the Cape with the family, and especially loved her grandchildren.

Loving mother of Carol J. Pearl and her husband Greg of Milford and Julie C. Gonzalez and her husband Steven of Milford. Sister of Daniel Sweeney and his wife Renee of The Villages, FL, Edward Sweeney and his wife Joanne of Daytona Beach, FL, and Clare Gates and her husband Herb of Boyton Beach, FL. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Carlie Gonzalez, Ryan Pearl, Gabriella Gonzalez, Lauren Pearl, Julia Gonzalez, and Eliza Gonzalez, as well as several nieces and nephews, and many cousins.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 9AM from the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water St., Milford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Winter St., Milford. Her burial will take place at the V.A. National Cemetery in Bourne.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 PM.

Dear Peter, Carol & Juliet & family, Please accept my deepest sympathies. You don't know me, but I worked for a brief time in the sales department @NSTAR in Westwood w/Jane. The last email I received from her was about granddaughter Carlie and being there for her as she went through treatment of bone cancer. I have to say I am happy to read that Carlie has had her last bone treatment. Grandma for sure is watching over her. Until I received the obituary in an email from a friend and co-worker at NSTAR, I had no idea Jane herself was ill. She was a remarkable, strong & funny person. I retired in 2007 and we kept in touch by email. She never once told me she was ill.
