Theodore A. Brothers Jr., 83, of Uxbridge formerly of Milford, passed away February 15, 2017 at the Beaumont Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Northbridge. He was the husband of Janice L. (Viscione) Brothers for 60 years. He was born in Mendon, son of the late Theodore Brothers Sr. and Yolande (Guy) Brothers and lived in Mendon and Milford before moving to Uxbridge in 2014. He was a graduate of the St. Mary’s High School class of 1952 where he exceled in sports. He was a Korean War Army Veteran, serving on the frontline of battle as a medic. He attained the rank of Master Sargent in the Massachusetts National Guard. When he was stationed in Hawaii he was approached to play professional baseball. He retired in 1994 from the Park and Shop grocery store in Southbridge where he was employed as a manager. He also was employed as a manager for many super markets. He was an avid sports fan and exceled in many sports. He was an avid golfer and played at many courses in the area. He was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church. The family would like to Thank the staff at the Beaumont Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for treating him like family.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his brothers, Normand Brothers and his wife Jeanne of Auburndale FL, Roger Brothers and his wife Marie of Milford, two sisters, Muriel Flynn of Mansfield, Pauline Koerner of Cumberland RI, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law’s Gregory Flynn and Peter Koerner.
The funeral will be held Monday, February 20, 2017 at 9 A.M. from the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water St., Milford. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 A.M. at the St. Mary of the Assumption Church on Winter St. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
