Margaret (Peggy) Moan LeLacheur

Margaret (Peggy) Moan LeLacheur of Brighton, Ma and Milford, MA died at the age of 67 peacefully but unexpectedly at home with her family Saturday February 25, 2017. Survived by the love of her life of 43 years Robert G. LeLacheur Sr. of Milford Ma. Born in Newton, Ma and raised in Brighton, Ma she was the daughter of late Richard and Ileana Moan. She was a devoted mother of 3. Leaving behind daughters Nicole LeLacheur-Carter, Danielle LeLacheur and only son Robert G LeLacheur Jr. She also leaves behind her best friend and beloved only grandchild Sadie Marie Carter. She was 1 of 4 children, sister to Jane M. Doherty and husband Dennis Doherty of Wayland, younger brothers Richard H Moan Jr. and wife Denise Moan of Shrewsbury, Ma and youngest brother Ronald M Moan and wife Patricia of Glastonbury, CT. Although in-laws, Peggy loved them like her own siblings.  Jean LeLacheur Koumantzelis and husband John Koumantzelis of Lowell, Ma. Beverly Chief of Police, John LeLacheur and wife Frances of Wenham, Ma. She leaves behind a number of nieces and nephews who loved her as much as she loved them. She graduated from St. Columbkille’s High school in 1967 and took classes at Northeastern University. For 20+ years she worked as a sales representative for Food Equipment & Design Co.in Brighton Ma. With perseverance and her well-known grit she became the first female outside sales representative at that time in the company’s history.  Peggy loved to ski. She was a member of the Wedeln ski club in North Conway NH from 1970-1980. This is where she met the love of her life. Peggy had a contagious personality, to know her was to love her. Her beauty and outstanding personality was why she was voted Miss Interclub of 1974. Peggy’s whole life was her family. She lived for them as they did for her.  She loved to watch cooking shows with her only Granddaughter, Sadie. Her legacy of showering her loved ones with food and love will be carried out by the next generation. Holidays filled with love and the abundance of food will live on. She loved the beach, spending summers on the Cape and in N.H with friends and family. Peggy was the biggest Patriots fan there was. She can go, happily know she witnessed the greatest Super bowl game ever played. Due to her history with design, she loved home renovations and interior design. She was always redoing a room, the house was ever changing, and it was her true passion. Another hobby Peggy enjoyed was knitting and sewing, she loved to knit hats and blanket for newborn babies in the hospital. Along with all of Peggy’s interests her most beloved was weekend trips away with her husband to Foxwoods. Even in death Peggy was giving back, she was able to donate her organs to the New England Organ Bank. Throughout her 3 children’s lives she took an active role in their education as a volunteer in all of the schools. As a grandmother Peggy made sure to instill a passion for learning and reading in Sadie, they spent countless hours talking about math and science and what it meant to be a strong and confident woman. She loved that Sadie was so interested in science and math and we hope to carry on that legacy. In lieu of flowers we have set up a Memorial fund to foster love and learning through math and science.
