William F. Travis Sr., 92, of Milford, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at the Blaire House of Milford. He was the husband of Grace M (Criasia) Travis. They were married on June 1, 1946. They were married 70 years. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 31, 1924. He was the son of Jose and Lillian (Wheeler) Travis. He was educated in the Natick Public school system. He was a U.S. Naval Veteran. He worked at the former Draper Corporation for 34 years in woodworking and crane operator.
Mr. Travis retired in 1986 from Wrentham State School where he was employed as maintenance and painter. He also had a small engine business. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed his yearly trips to the campground at Horseneck Beach.
He is survived by his children, Michael Travis and his wife Barbara (Miller) Travis of Medfield, MA, Linda Douglas and husband Mark Douglas of Palm Coast, FL. Rosemarie Chandonnais and David Proulx of Whitinsville, MA, Shirley Bodreau of Milford and William F. Travis, Jr. of Milford, MA. He also has ten grandchildren And ten great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 9 A.M. from the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water St., Milford. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church 7 East Main St. The burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
